From October 21 to 23, the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Rijeka organized a project meeting and learning and teaching activity within the Erasmus+ project SciMaG – Science&Math educational games from preschool to university. The emphasis of the project activities is on analog and social games, which develop mathematical and scientific literacy, computational thinking, social and communication skills, etc.
The topic of the three-day education held in Rijeka was game-based teaching. In addition to the theoretical introduction to the subject and the exchange of experiences on the implementation of games in classes and extracurricular activities, the participants of the education had the opportunity to try out numerous educational games developed at the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Rijeka, explore the permanent exhibition of the Natural History Museum Rijeka in Kaštel Zrinski through the game and see first-hand how games are used in classes at Elementary School Sveti Matej Viškovo, and the Prva sušačka hrvatska gimnazija u Rijeci.
