Martina Holenko Dlab participated in the dissemination of the SciMaG project results at the international conference “Suvremene teme u odgoju i obrazovanju – STOO4,” organized by the Faculty of Teacher Education at the University of Zagreb, which took place on September 26 and 27, 2024, in Zagreb.

A presentation titled “Threshold concepts in computer science teaching” was delivered by Gabrijela Jakovac, a Master of Education in Informatics, who became involved in the research while working on her master’s thesis within the Informatics teacher education program at the Faculty of Informatics and Digital Technologies.

We participated in the Math Festival in Geneva, Switzerland. We presented several activities: Pi treasure hunt, Cryptography treasure hunt, [ai] explore game, story Platonic solids game, Prepare & play sudoku, Escher type puzzle, and mathematical card tricks.

We presented SciMaG games, STEM park Rijeka, and [ai] explore exhibition through Lightning talk and the Showcase as a part of the Matrix x Imaginary conference, held from August 31st until September 4st 2024 in Les Diablerets, Switzerland.

Bojan Crnkovoić and Vedrana Mikulić Crnković held a poster presentation at the European Congress of Mathematics in Sevilla, 15-19 July, 2024. The poster title The exhibition and the games -An interdisciplinary approach to teaching and promoting mathematics.

We held a cycle of workshops titled Mathematics and Games for the participants of the program Budi++, CTK Rijeka.

Precisely, we held 5 workshops, from 1.7.2024. until 5.7.2024. and some titles were: Mathematical games and puzzles, Assemble and play sudoku, Sudoku in Scratch, Treasure hunt in the Pi rhythm, and Treasure hunt in the Pi rhythm in Scratch.

In the presented work, we described the two variants of the [ai] explore! game, developed within the SciMaG project.

During the last couple of months, we conducted a threshold concept discussion in Rijeka, Croatia.

The aim is to identify threshold concepts in mathematics, informatics, and physics. We organized several meetings with teachers of these subjects, presented the SciMaG project, and discussed the threshold concepts.

26.6.2024. in front of the Dječja kuća Rijeka, another festival Tobogan was held! The Faculty of Mathematics, University of Rijeka participated with SciMaG games Prepare and play Sudoku and Pi treasure hunt.

A manifestation on the occasion of the International Day of Light – Ode to Light was held in the Astronomical Centre Rijeka from the 16th until the 18th of May, 2024. As a part of this manifestation, we held a workshop Mathematical games and puzzles.
